I. Product Overview:
The X16W three-way brass plug valve is a rotary valve with a closing element or a plunger. By rotating 90 degrees, the passage port on the plug aligns with or separates from the passage port on the valve body, enabling the valve to open or close. The plug of the plug valve can be cylindrical or conical. In a cylindrical plug, the passage is generally rectangular; while in a conical plug, the passage is trapezoidal. These shapes make the structure of the plug valve lightweight, but they also cause certain losses. Plug valves are most suitable for cutting off and connecting media as well as for shunting. However, depending on the nature of the application and the erosion resistance of the sealing surface, they can sometimes be used for throttling. Since the movement between the sealing surfaces of the plug valve has a wiping effect, and it can completely prevent contact with the flowing medium when fully open, it is usually also suitable for media with suspended particles. Another important feature of the plug valve is that it is easy to adapt to multi-channel structures, so that a single valve can have two, three, or even four different flow passages. This can simplify the design of the piping system, reduce the number of valves used, and eliminate some connecting fittings required in the equipment.
